However, end panels are available if required. Appliances, sinks, taps, worktops are all available from Sambourne House at very competitive prices, supplied at less than trade price alongside your kitchen.
Planning
When planning a kitchen, it is advisable to begin by firstly deciding on a type of sink and where it is to be placed, then matching this with the appropriate unit. Secondly the appliances need to be accounted for and there preferred position. Care should be taken not to place a cooker next to a sink or refrigerator and ensure dishwashers and washing machines are convenient for both water supply and practical operation. Once done, the space left can be filled with the kitchen furniture, using the unit sizes found on the price list. Lastly work out the amount of plinth required for the base units and the amount of cornice and pelmet for the wall units.
Worktops
There is a huge variety in material used for worktop
Beech and Oak– 40-mm thick solid wood made in 40mm laminations;
Other hard woods can be obtained such as maple, ash, oak etc– price on application.
Granite – available in many colours; comes in 25-35 mm thickness. The price quoted includes templating of your installed kitchen and then fitting a week later by experienced professionals. Quotations can only be given based on the exact colour chosen and a plan drawing of the kitchen itself, as estimates can prove unreliable. Samples are available to view in our showroom.
Laminate – available in many finishes and thickness . Not suitable for Belfast sinks.
Finishes
There are 25 finishes available, the most popular being cream variations. Combination finishes create a contrasting effect such as waxed backboards on glazed units with painted fronts. All colours can be viewed either on furniture or in catalogue form. Wooden work tops need to be fine sanded after fitting and oiled; we recommend “Liberon Finishing Oil” with at least 3 coats to be applied, preferably 5, especially around sink area. Fine sanding with wirewool is required between coats. Also, the underside needs to be oiled before installation.
Sinks
Although single and double Belfast sink units are part of our range, any inset sink can be fitted into other base units .
